WIKINGER Platform

On 29/10/2018 the Wikinger Wind Platform, developed by Iberdrola and whose construction has involved companies such as Navantia and Siemens, was inaugurated.

This platform, built in the middle of the Baltic Sea, will power more than 350,000 homes. It consists of 70 wind turbines, each 270 metres high and with a total generating capacity of 350 MW, as well as a gigantic 80,500-tonne electrical substation that manages all the electrical energy generated by the windmills.

TASC, S.L., has supplied fire detection equipment: Protectowire Sensor Cable and Fenwal Detectors; for the protection of the substation transformers. All the material supplied is anti-corrosion due to the marine environment in which it will be installed, including connection boxes with Teflon treatment.
