DIGITAL SENSOR CABLE

Our linear heat detection cable detects heat at any point along its length. It consists of two steel conductors individually insulated with a temperature-sensitive polymer. The insulated conductors are twisted together to create a spring pressure, coated with an outer sheath suitable for the environment in which the detector is to be installed. This digital pre-set temperature sensor is capable of activating an alarm when the selected trigger temperature is reached. Upon reaching the trigger temperature to which the cable is calibrated, the heat-sensitive polymer insulator yields against its constant spring pressure, allowing the inner conductors to come into contact with each other and trigger an alarm signal. This action occurs at any point along its length that is affected by heat (exceeding the calibrated temperature). No specific length is required to be heated to trigger an alarm, nor is the system required to be calibrated to compensate for changes in the ambient temperature where it is installed. The Digital Linear Heat Detector provides the advantages of line coverage with uniform sensitivity.

When choosing the trigger temperature of the sensor cable, the maximum ambient temperature must be taken into account and the type of cable sheath that is best suited for the type of environment in which it is to be installed must also be chosen.
Note: It is recommended that an end-of-line monitoring box with test facility be installed in an accessible area.

For proper operation, such cables shall be connected to a supervisory module, which may be a special one dedicated for this type of sensor cable or directly to the supervisory module of the general alarm detection system of the plant.

This cable can be installed in areas with risk of explosion (ATEX), for this it is necessary to provide the whole system with the necessary protections to ensure that it will not cause any type of ignition. It is as simple as installing a Zener Barrier or Galvanic Isolator according to the type of application zone, in this way the digital sensor cable can be installed even in Zone 0, as long as the maximum values of inductance and capacitance recommended by the indications of the zener barrier or galvanic isolator to be used or by the corresponding regulations to be applied are not exceeded.
