COMBINED FLAME DETECTION (IR+UV)

The combined ultraviolet / infrared (UV/IR) optical flame detector employs a UV sensor, immune to solar radiation, coupled with a narrow-band IR sensor to provide excellent detection sensitivity together with enhanced false alarm immunity.

The detector has a very fast time response to the saturated signal. It is designed to detect fires involving hydrocarbon-based fuels, hydrogen, hydroxy derivative fuels, metal fires and inorganic materials.

The main applications depending on the type of detector / sensor are:
– Oil fires
– Hydrogen, ammonia, silane and other hydrogen-based fuel fires
– Metal fires

The advantages are:
– Suitable for indoor and outdoor use (depending on models and accessories).
– Moderate speed.
– Moderate sensitivity.
– Low rate of false alarms
– Unaffected by solar radiation
